Time to leave the house.  Join us for a country drive to Athens, wine and hors d'oeuvre reception at a turn-of-the-previous-century home, lunch and win-tasting the Tara Vineyard and Winery.  Our reception will be at the former home of Clint Murchison Sr.  His son Clint Jr. owned the Dallas Cowboys which won two Super Bowls during the Tom Landry era.  The house was moved in several pieces from Downtown Athens to the winery and now serves as an inn.  After the reception, we will enjoy lunch at the winery, making our selections from a group menu which will be specially prepared for us by Executive Chef Brian Kirksey.  After lunch, we will do a tasting of 5 wines at the winery's barrel room, and have an opportunity to purchase some of their highly-regarded wines. The event fee of $25 per member ($35 per nonmember) includes the wine and hors d'oeuvre reception and the 5-wine tasting.  Pay for your own lunch.  See below to sign up and pay the event fee.

NOTE:  We may experience some wait time for lunch as we anticipate a large group, and everything will be prepared fresh only after you order.  This should not be an issue as we will have the hors d'oeuvre reception before lunch.

When:  Saturday, January 12, 9:30am. 

Meeting Place:  At 9:30am (come earlier if you wish to have breakfast), we will meet for a briefing at Starbucks, 3221 E California Pkwy, Forest Hill, TX, on I-20 just east of Fort Worth, (817) 551-6225 ‎(see map below).  We will depart immediately after the briefing.

Signup and Fees:

We will charge an event fee of $25 per person for each MBCA member and their immediate family members. Non-members are welcome, and will be charged $35 each. The event fee will cover the wine and hors d'oeuvre reception and the 5-wine tasting. Lunch is pay your own.

Important:  Please register as soon as possible so we can provide a good headcount to the winery.  We will need to apprise the facilities of our headcount as we go, and there is a possibility that we will need to limit our attendance if we have too big of a group.  First come, first served.
