us for a country drive to Meridian, lunch at the highly-rated Cactus Grill Restaurant, wine-tasting at the
also highly-rated Red Caboose tasting room, and a visit to the 1884 Whipple
Truss Bridge (weather and construction permitting). The Cactus Grill has a
variety of excellent selections and was featured in Texas Highways Magazine.
It is a surprising find in little Meridian.
We will order from a group menu (see below).
After lunch, we will do a tasting of 6 wines at the Red Caboose tasting room in
nearby Clifton,
and have an opportunity to purchase some of their highly-regarded
wines. After the tasting, we will take a short hop to the Whipple Truss
Bridge, weather and construction permitting. Named after its designer,
this historic single-lane bridge was built in 1884 (before cars were invented)
and is one of the few remaining bridges of its type in Texas. The event
fee of $30 per member ($40 per nonmember) includes both the lunch (tax & tip
included) and the 6-wine tasting. See below to pay.NOTE: The Cactus Grill is a small establishment. The only staff is Raul the chef, and Veronica & Mario the servers. Please expect some wait time for your food as we anticipate a large group, and everything will be prepared fresh only after you order. You may BYOB and pay corkage of $4.50 for 4 persons (Not included in the event fee. Share the fee with your fellow members). We suggest you have a good breakfast before the event. Meeting Place: At 9:45am (come earlier if you wish to have breakfast), we will meet for a briefing at Starbucks, 4849 Bryant Irvin Road, Fort Worth, TX, just south of I-20, (817) 263-7070 (see map below). It is located in the shopping area to the right of the Chase bank. We will depart immediately after the briefing.

Baja Fish Tacos - on flour tortillas, lettuce, tomato, cilantro jalapeno tartar sauce, and french fries.
Chicken Fried Steak - mashed potatoes, vegetables, cream gravy
Fried Catfish - cilantro-jalapeno tartar sauce, french fries, cole slaw
Grilled Black Angus Cheeseburger - cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, mustard, and french fries.
Chicken Salad Sandwich - chicken breast with apple, celery, grape and mayo dressing on wheat with lettuce and tomato. Choice of chips, fries or cup of soup.
3) Tea, soda or coffee.
