CLICK TO GET ON WAITING LIST
UPDATE #1:  Due to the popularity of this event, we have exceeded the capacity of the Saturday Dinner private room we reserved at Gruene River Grill.  In accordance with the first-come, first-served method below, all registrants signing up beginning February 15 AND those who had NOT submitted their registration form before February 15 will need to be seated in the main dining room.  The Gruene River Grill does not take reservations so seating is not guaranteed, but the restaurant has expressed confidence that they can seat you.  For now, we will keep registration open on a first-come, first-served basis until the Wingate hotel runs out of rooms.  Sorry, but the space issue is beyond our control.

ORIGINAL POST:
Note that your registration will not be complete until you follow all the instructions below.  First come, first served for COMPLETED registrations only.

CLICK TO DOWNLOAD SIGNUP FORM.  Print and complete.  You can scan or take a picture of the completed form and email to DJ de Jesus, or you can mail the paper form to the address below.

The 2018 Hill Country Run will be an overnighter in Gruene, TX.  Members from all MBCA sections are welcome.  Our headquarters will be the Wingate by Wyndham hotel in New Braunfels, 2 miles from the famous Gruene Historic District.

On Saturday we will make our way to Gruene on roads less traveled, which will include a scenic drive on twisty Hill Country roads.  We will meet up with attendees from other MBCA chapters for lunch at River City Grill in Marble Falls, then caravan as a group to Gruene on scenic back roads.   After we get settled at the hotel, we will try to secure our parking (and beat the crowd) at the Gruene River Grill, our dinner venue located in the busy Gruene Historic District.  We will then enjoy the Historic District on foot and do some sightseeing and shopping before dinner.  We can also opt to relax with other members at the restaurant's private room which is reserved for us.  Dinner will be from the regular menu, separate checks.  After dinner, we will go back to the hotel to play another of our world-famous games at the hotel's meeting room - winners will get great prizes.  After the game, we will spend the rest of the evening catching up with old friends, and making new ones, at the Happy Hour hosted by the Lone Star Section in the meeting room.

On Sunday, we will enjoy a twisty drive to Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood, our lunch venue.  After lunch, members from Central Texas may opt to return home, or to caravan with the Fort Worth group to Marble Falls, where the event will formally end.

SIGN UP NOW!  See below for accommodations, registration instructions and schedule of activities.  Questions?  CLICK to email DJ de Jesus (Fort Worth Section), 817-319-3033.

IMPORTANT!  SIGN UP AND BOOK YOUR OWN RESERVATION WITH THE WINGATE BY WYNDHAM HOTEL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!  Space is limited for rooms and for dinner. In previous years we ran out of rooms and had to close registration. Unlike in big cities, Hill Country venues cannot accommodate very large groups.  See below for complete event details and registration instructions.

I. Hotel Accommodations

Do NOT wait until the last minute to make your reservation at the Wingate by Wyndham New Braunfels, 245 FM-306 New Braunfels, Texas 78130.  To make a reservation, call 830-515-4701 and say you are with the Mercedes-Benz Club (Block ID# 228814 in case they ask).  Only a limited number of rooms are available for the night of April 14 at the group rate.  First come, first served.  Pay your own.

The cost of your room will be at the group rate of $130 per night plus $16.90 taxes and fees.  We have a mix of King and Double-Queen rooms assigned to us.  Please state your room preference when you book.  Note that room types are also first come, first served.

IMPORTANT!
1) The room block and group rate expire when the rooms run out or by April 7, whichever comes first. Spring is a very busy season in the Hill Country.  If you delay, you may need to pay a higher room rate.  Also, the hotel may run out of rooms.  It is in your best interest to book ASAP if you wish to attend this fun event.  In previous years we have had to turn away members who did not sign up on a timely basis.

2) If you must cancel your room reservation, please do so prior to the deadline indicated in your confirmation, otherwise you will be charged for the room.  In case we have a waiting list, we ask that you cancel as soon as you know you can't make it, and call or email
DJ de Jesus so that others may take your place.

3) Just booking your room does not mean you are registered.  You also need to complete your registration per the below.  If you do not register, we can only assume you will not attend.  Your room will need to be freed up for the next in line so folks who are able to attend can do so, and to avoid penalties to the club.

II. Registration and Event Fees:

Please follow the steps below to sign up and secure your spot.  We will charge an event fee of $20 per person for MBCA members and their immediate families.  This fee helps cover cost of prizes, room rentals and other miscellaneous event expenses.  Non-members will be charged $30 per person. Accommodations, meals and other expenses are pay-your own.  You may pay the event fee online or by check.

1) Make your reservation with the Wingate by Wyndham New Braunfels ASAP (see above) to assure your accommodation.

2)
CLICK to download signup form (PDF). Print and complete.  You can scan or take a picture of the completed form and email to DJ de Jesus, or you can mail the paper form.  Send completed paper forms and checks (if you wish to pay this way) to DJ de Jesus, 4159 Charron Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76116.  See below to pay the event fee online or by check.  Please sign up as soon as possible, so we know how many members to expect for activities, caravans and meals.  Note:  If you choose to mail a paper signup form and/or check, please CLICK to email DJ and let him know you are coming.

IMPORTANT!
Some of the Hill Country venues we visit may need to staff up to accommodate our group. These businesses are apprised of our expected attendance, and may be caused some hardship if we do not meet that,  not to mention probable hardship caused to our volunteer event planners and to the club in the form of penalties.  If you sign up for an activity please endeavor to attend it.  We ask that you do not back out of an activity you commit to attend without reasonable notice.

3) The event fee can be paid online with your credit card via PayPal.  You do not need a PayPal Account to do so.  If you have a mix of members and non-members attending, use the drop-down menu below to select "MBCA Member", then click the "Add to Cart" button. From the PayPal screen, click "Continue Shopping". Then, use the drop-down menu below to select "Non-Member", then click "Add to Cart" . After you are done, click "Proceed to Checkout" from the PayPal screen. Please ensure the quantities for members and non-members reflect the number of attendees in your party.
