us for the 2019 Fall Overnighter in Fredericksburg, TX. All spots are subject to space availability. Our
headquarters will be the always-fun WW2 airbase-themed Hangar Hotel,
which is just a short hop away from Fredericksburg's main drag.
On Saturday we will make our way from Fort Worth to Fredericksburg on roads less traveled. Lunch will be at the excellent Cooper's BBQ at Llano. After lunch, we will proceed to Messina Hof Hill Country for wine-tasting (flight of 5 wines) and a short winery tour. After our winery visit, you can explore Fredericksburg on your own. You may proceed to the Hangar Hotel to check-in, take in some shopping and visit the National Museum of the Pacific War in whatever order you wish. Please note that the museum closes at 5pm and most shops close at 6pm, so you may want to head to downtown Fredericksburg prior to checking in at the Hangar Hotel. At 7pm, we will have our group dinner at Bella Sera, an Italian eatery close to the hotel. No other restaurant, German or otherwise, will accept reservations for a group our size during the busy Fall Season. After dinner, we will spend the rest of the evening at the Hangar's Officers Club to catch up with old friends and hopefully to make new ones.
On Sunday, we will enjoy a twisty, scenic drive through the heart of the Hill Country and head to Kingsland. Fellow members Ginny and Arno Pitzen have graciously offered to host lunch for our group at their new home. After lunch, we will drive home on our own.

I. Hotel Accommodations:
Call the Hangar Hotel at 844-596-2300. Say you are with the Mercedes-Benz Club so you can get the group rate. The check-in date is November 2. All rooms have king beds. The hotel is non-smoking and does not accommodate children under 18 and pets. The cost of your room will be at the group rate of $149 per night plus taxes and fees. First come, first served. Pay your own.
Do NOT wait until the last minute
to make your reservation at the Hangar Hotel on 155 Airport Rd,
Fredericksburg, TX. The room block and group rate
expire when the rooms run out or by October
whichever comes first. This is peak season in the Hill Country. If you
delay, you will likely be unable to get a room here or anywhere else, or
will need to pay a much higher room rate. It is in your best interest to book ASAP
if you wish to attend this fun event. In previous years we have had to
turn away members who did not sign up on a timely basis.
1) Just booking your room does not mean you are registered. You also need to complete your registration per the below. Please do all the requirements all at once. If you do not register, we can only assume you will not attend. Your hotel room will need to be freed up for the next in line so folks who are able to attend can do so.
2) If you must cancel your room reservation, please do so before October 18 so we can get the room back in the block. We ask that you cancel as soon as you know you can't make it, and call or email DJ de Jesus so that others may take your place. Please note your credit card will be charged 48 hours before arrival date if you do not cancel before then.
II. Registration and Event Fees:
Please follow the three steps below to sign up and secure your spot. We will charge an event fee of $35 per person for MBCA members and their immediate families. This fee helps cover the cost of the Messina Hof wine-tasting and Sunday lunch at the Pitzens'. Non-members will be charged $45 per person. Accommodations, other meals and expenses are pay-your-own. You may pay the event fee online or by check.
1) Make your reservation with the
ASAP (see above) to assure your accommodation.
2) CLICK to download signup form (PDF). Print and complete. You can scan or take a picture of the completed form and email to DJ de Jesus, or you can mail the paper form. Send completed paper forms and checks (if you wish to pay this way) to DJ de Jesus, 4159 Charron Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76116. See below to pay the event fee online or by check. Please sign up as soon as possible, so we know how many members to expect for activities, caravans and meals. Note: If you choose to snail-mail a paper signup form and/or check, please CLICK to email DJ and let him know you are coming.
If you sign up for an activity please endeavor to attend it. We ask that you do not back out of an activity you commit to attend without reasonable notice. Our planning depends on an accurate headcount for each activity.
3) Pay the event fee.
a) The event fee can be paid online with your credit card via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal Account to do so. If you have a mix of members and non-members attending, use the drop-down menu below to select "MBCA Member", then click the "Add to Cart" button. From the PayPal screen, click "Continue Shopping". Then, use the drop-down menu below to select "Non-Member", then click "Add to Cart" . After you are done, click "Proceed to Checkout" from the PayPal screen. Please ensure the quantities for members and non-members reflect the number of attendees in your party.
b) To pay the event fee by check, make it out to MBCA and send to DJ de Jesus, 4159 Charron Lane, Fort Worth, TX 76116. Note: If you choose to mail a paper signup form and/or check, please CLICK to email DJ and let him know you are coming.
III. Schedule of Activities

Saturday, November 2
07:45am: Meet and brief at the Starbucks, 4849 Bryant Irvin Road, Fort Worth, (817) 263-7070. Please be on time.
08:00am: Caravan departs from Fort Worth to Llano.
11:15am: STOP for lunch at Cooper's BBQ, 604 W Young St, Llano, TX, (325) 247-5713. Pay your own.
01:00pm: Depart Cooper's BBQ for drive to Messina Hof Hill Country Winery.
02:00pm: Wine-Tasting and Tour at Messina Hof Hill Country Winery, 9996 US-290 E, Fredericksburg, (830) 990-4653. Included in event fee.
03:30pm - 6:45pm: Free time to enjoy Fredericksburg on your own. You may do the following in any order you wish. Please note closing times and drive times from Messina Hof:
a) Check-in at the Hangar Hotel on 155 Airport Rd, Fredericksburg, 830-596-2300. Driving time from Messina Hof - 20 minutes. Check-in time is 3pm.
b) Visit the Pacific War Museum, 340 E Main St., Fredericksburg, 830-997-8600. Driving time from Messina Hof - 15 minutes. Closing time 5pm.
c) Shopping on Main Street. Driving time from Messina Hof - 15 minutes. Most shops close at 6pm.
Parking: We suggest you try for parking by the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor's Bureau, 302 E Austin St, Fredericksburg. It is just across the Pacific War Museum and close to Main Street shopping. Drive time from the CVB to the Hangar Hotel is 10 minutes.
06:45pm: Depart Hangar Hotel for Bella Sera Italian Restaurant.
07:00pm: Dinner at
Bella Sera, 1311 TX-16, Fredericksburg, (830) 990-0140. Order from menu, pay your
08:30pm: Depart Bella Sera for the Hangar Hotel. No need for caravan - follow handout directions. It is strongly recommended you gas up at this time.
08:45pm: OPTIONAL - drinks at the Hangar's Officers Club. Pay your own.
Sunday, November 3
08:00-09:45am: Breakfast on your own at the Airport Diner beside the hotel. Check out.
09:45am: Form caravan at hotel parking lot for scenic Sunday drive to Kingsland. Depart hotel.
11:30am: Lunch at the Pitzen Haus, 304 Legends Pkwy, Kingsland, (512) 925-4481. Included in event fee.
After lunch, head home on your own.
