a country drive, a visit to a private car collection at Clifton Classic Chassis, and
lunch at the historic Corner Drug Cafe in Clifton, TX.
Our first activity will be lunch at Corner Drug Cafe, a quaint destination housed in a historic 1880s building in Downtown Clifton. The cafe retained most of the original classic architectural features and an old-fashioned soda fountain as a tribute to the Corner Pharmacy, a previous well-known occupant. Highly rated, the cafe serves soups, salads, sandwiches and homemade pastries for lunch, not to mention daily specials and old-fashioned soda fountain drinks. Make your lunch selections from the menu. Pay your own.
Note: We will park at the Classic Chassis lot and walk (3 minutes) to the cafe, as we think it will be easier than parking downtown. After lunch, we will walk back to the car museum.
After lunch, we will visit Clifton Classic Chassis, a private museum which houses over 30 restored and original classic American automobiles. It is the private collection of Dr. Terry Watson of Clifton and Dallas, who will be standing by to answer any questions we may have about his cars. Examples include a '60 Corvette Convertible, a '40 Buick Eight Sedan, a '55 Thunderbird Convertible, and several other classic Cadillacs, Pontiacs and Lincolns. Besides autos, the museum also has a collection of Clifton/Bosque County memorabilia from the 1950s through 1970s. Also inside the museum is a newly-added gallery which houses a wide variety of modern art (including several works by renowned Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali), classic Spanish & Mexican oil paintings dating back to the 1700s, modern paintings by Clifton and Bosque County artists, and a rare collection of artifacts dating back to the Olmec, Aztec and Mayan eras.

Cost and Signup: We will charge an event fee of $5 per person. The fee will cover admission to the Classic Chassis Auto Museum and the club's administrative expenses. Non-members guests are welcome.
